Kebab and Curries – The Hidden Gem for Laal Maas, Dal Baati, and Biryani

The Secret Spot for Food Lovers in Jaipur

Jaipur, the Pink City, is known for its rich culture, stunning architecture, and—most importantly—its mouthwatering Rajasthani cuisine. On my recent visit to attend Karan Aujla’s concert, I made sure to dedicate a full day to exploring the city’s food scene. And what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Jaipur’s famous food? Laal Maas!

But here’s the thing—hyped restaurants often disappoint. That’s why I always go off the beaten path to find authentic and genuinely flavorful food rather than just focusing on fancy presentations or Instagram-worthy décor.

And that’s how I stumbled upon a hidden gem near Hawa MahalThe Kabab and Curries Company.

A Foodie’s Unexpected Discovery – Kabab and Curries Company

After a long day of walking around Jaipur, hunger struck, and like any modern foodie, I turned to Google. Scrolling through the highly-rated places near Hawa Mahal, I found The Kebab and Curries Company, located just a 2-minute walk from the monument.

At first glance, from the outside, the restaurant didn’t look very convincing. But the moment I stepped in—WOW! The authentic Rajasthani décor and warm, inviting atmosphere instantly made me feel like I was in for a treat.

And I wasn’t wrong!

The Star Dishes – Laal Maas, Dal Baati Thali & Biryani

🔥 Laal Maas – A Spicy Rajasthani Delight

I had already tried Laal Maas at Spice Court, a well-known restaurant for this iconic dish. But the version served at Kebab and Curries Company gave it tough competition.

The gravy was rich, smoky, and spicy, with perfectly cooked mutton that just melted in the mouth. The bold flavors, enhanced by the use of Mathania red chilies, made it one of the best Laal Maas experiences I’ve had. If you love authentic, spicy Rajasthani food, this is a must-try!

🍛 Dal Baati Thali – A Rajasthani Classic Done Right

You can’t visit Jaipur and skip Dal Baati Churma, and this place took it to another level with its stuffed baati.

  • The baatis were soft, rich in ghee, and had a beautifully balanced wheat flavor.
  • The stuffed baati was next-level delicious—flavored with spices and nuts that added an extra depth of taste.
  • The dal was the real game-changer. The tadka was perfectly infused with garlic, making every bite tempting and fulfilling.
  • To end the meal on a sweet note, the churma was absolutely divine—both classic and kesar versions were worth every bite.

🍚 Biryani – Aromatic & Flavorful

The biryani at Kebab and Curries Company was fragrant, well-cooked, and packed with flavors. The perfect balance of spices and tender meat made it one of the standout dishes of my visit. If you’re craving a rich, hearty meal, this biryani is a great choice.

Final Verdict – A Must-Visit Hidden Gem in Jaipur!

I walked into Kebab and Curries Company with no expectations, and I walked out completely impressed. From the flavors to the authenticity, this place is a true hidden gem that deserves more attention.

If you’re in Jaipur and want to try Laal Maas, Dal Baati, or Biryani without falling into the tourist trap of overhyped restaurants, this is the place to go.

Highly recommended for true food lovers!
